TLCDC – Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance company

The Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company (TLCDC) began in the year 2000. Our current trio of senior dancers Salim ‘Sally Swag’ Shaikh, Dhanisa Shende and Ravinder Singh are recognized within dance circles in their own right and are role models for the younger generation. The company also encourages continued professional development for each dancer, investing in dedicated classes and workshops year-round, so that its members can learn and grow. It offers annual scholarships to the senior dancers to travel internationally and bring the best from around the globe back to the country.

Proficient in jazz funk, urban hip hop, broadway & latin styles, the Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company specializes in Indo-Contemporary work. This style, introduced by Terence Lewis, draws influences from Indian classical dance and folk dances, incorporated with contemporary technique.

With its’ quality of dancers assured by the rigorous initial instruction provided at the TLPTI and ongoing training by the Company, the TLCDC is constantly in demand for commercial shows, wedding celebrations, product launches, TV Award nights and arts festivals for which it travels around the globe.

The TLCDC’s artistic unit, Paara, develops experimental yet entertaining work that explores the creative process through cutting-edge, theatrical stage shows.
